And I just haven’t made time in my days to blog any personal posts…so here’s I think the 4th edition of 5 things I love! :)

1: Death by Love.  That sounds kind of scary right? You kind of want to know exactly what I’m talking about and I love the fact that this is the title of the book I’m currently reading!  A couple weeks ago we made a trip to Albuquerque NM for a client meeting and to catch up with Aric’s mom a bit, so we made time to visit the new Mars Hill Church in Albuquerque where one of our good friends and the guy that married us is a pastor at!   It was awesome, and so refreshing to finally be back in church for once! We have been on the go so much we have missed our church family here in Lubbock at Redeemer!!  Anywho, they were selling some books there…and any time there are a stand of books somewhere you can bet I will be browsing through them… So I somehow twisted Aric’s arm into buying me ANOTHER new book… ;)

I’m only a few chapters in, but already it’s changing my life!  Mark Driscoll is so real, and raw, and hardcore in his writing!! (yeah, I just used the word “hardcore” I’m just that awesome)

Anyway, if you’re looking for a good book to be “in your face” about the reality of Jesus Christ and what He did on the cross- this is the book for you. It’s seriously intense!

2: I LOVE my sisters’ blogs.  I used sisters’ plural because although I only have one blood related sister, I also have a best friend who might as well be my second sister.  These two women are 2 of the most influential people in my life, so when they both started a personal blog I was ecstatic! (I’m kind of a blog stalker!!) :)  I love getting to share in their lives even though they both live farther away than I would like them to live from me! :) And they always teach me so much through their writing! I’m so blessed by both of these wonderful girls!

3: Grapefruit.  I’m addicted to it.  I would literally buy like 7 grapefruits for one week and more than likely they were all gone before a week was up.  I love to eat them for breakfast, for a snack, I would eat them for dinner if I could! They are just soooo good!! And then, my world got even better when I found out they sell packaged grapefruit already peeled and ready to eat!!! It was like christmas morning!! Now I get all the goodness of grapefruit without all the work!! AND I LOVE IT! :)

4: Starbuck’s Pumpkin Spice Latte.

That’s really all I have to say.  Every year right around the beginning of September, Starbuck’s announces they are bringing back the Pumpkin Spice Latte…and I wonder…why they ever take it out of their stores in the first place.  I understand that it’s the perfect “fall” drink.  But…I could probably still enjoy it during the summer and spring too… maybe?  Anyway, it’s back and life is just a little bit better because of it! :)

5: Last but not least…FALL!!! Fall is coming…the weather is (supposed to be) getting cooler, the trees will start changing, I’ll get to wear my boots and scarves and cute coats again and I’m so excited.  I simply adore the fall season.  It is my favorite!!

**Because it IS turning into fall…that means…Christmas is right around the corner!!  We will be offering family sessions with Christmas cards from now until mid-November so if your thinkin about it…it’s best to plan ahead!!! Also, we have been getting a few emails lately asking if we shoot Senior pictures and the answer is YES!!! We do!!! We have done a poor job of marketing that since we love shooting weddings so much, but YES we shoot SENIORS!!!  So if you’re a 2011 SENIOR and you are thinking about getting your senior pictures taken email us!!!

He knew what she was thinking before she ever called… He was already on his way to the church, dressed and ready to go, because he knew her.  He knew she would want to be early, he knew she would want to see him as soon as possible and the fact was that he wanted to see her too.  He sat in the groom’s room, dressed, waiting for his bride to be ready to see him and he twittered: “…About to see Sharon for the first look, she is going to look so beautiful” Because nothing could be more important than seeing his bride.

Meet Sharon for the first time and you’ll love her already.  She’s just that type of person, a little scattered, talkative, excited about life… and Forrest balances her.  He works a little slower, talkative but still a great listener, and equally as excited about life even if he doesn’t show it quite as much as her.  I can’t begin to tell you…we absolutely fell in love with Sharon and her excitement for her wedding.  Though, she was put into difficult circumstances she never let it set her back and she smiled and laughed and got excited through the whole thing.

There are so many things about this wedding that make me so excited, besides the fact that we love Sharon and Forrest and they make the most beautiful couple!! Sharon did a wonderful job with the help of our favorite wedding planner Jill to see her vision of yellow come alive for her wedding.  Every detail was carefully thought out and planned, even down to her lemon cake by Sweet Temptations… The flowers by Garden Works were gorgeous, the perfect favors inside “prescription bottles” because they are after all about to be Dr. & Dr. Gnagi… It was all perfect.

So I’ll let you enjoy some of our favorites from their day!

P.S. Notice there are A LOT of portraits… Sharon and Forrest had a first look and allowed for TONS of time for us to take portraits of the two of them, their wedding party, AND all family formals before the wedding… If pictures are important to you on your wedding day it’s best to plan your day this way!!

Congratulations Sharon and Forrest!!  Thanks so much for letting us be a part of your day, thanks for letting us into your lives!! We love you guys!!

I personally think it’s going to be awesome!

But even more than that, when Jesalyn said “Yep, we have a picture of us when we were babies, kissing…” I thought to myself that is UNREAL!! Who else has that?!?! And what a fun story!! They had meant to bring the photo so that we could use it a little in the session, but maybe they can bring it to the wedding and we can do something fun with it then.  Alston and Jesalyn were fun, laid back, and so in love…

It was Aric & I’s first time to ever visit college station and as Red Raiders we felt a little out of place! Haha.  It was fun though, and we love Katy and Logan even if they are Aggies! Some of the Aggie traditions came out in their wedding and in some of their pictures and it was actually pretty fun! :)  Katy and Logan were both basketball players for Texas A&M so we had to show a little bit of that off for them.  The wedding was beautiful, and the reception was definitely a party!! I love it when everyone gets out on the dance floor and dances!! Aric & I even stole a quick two-step! :)

But tomorrow we leave town again, to go visit Aric’s family in Albuquerque and have a few client meetings while we are there…

So I thought I’d leave you a little teaser of what I’ve been working on and still have lots of work to do on, but this is what I’ll be blogging when we get back next week!

There is just something about the pictures of a couple who have just said “I do” and are walking back down the aisle as husband and wife. They always seem to have this giant giddy smile on their faces and I think it’s absolutely priceless!  It’s one of my favorite moments of a wedding day and it’s one of my favorite pictures from my own wedding!  So I thought I’d share that moment from our August weddings that I’m working on! And then a quick glimpse at an engagement session we shot tonight.  :)

There just aren’t enough good things to say about them, and I have a feeling that the toasts from this weekend will be proof of that! We’re so excited to be a part of their big day! And so honored!  Galveston offered so many beautiful places for pictures!! Enjoy some of our favorites from their session!!

We traveled to Abilene early Saturday morning for their wedding and had so much fun just hanging out and being a part of their day.  The couple had a first look which gave us lots of time for pictures!!  The ACU campus had tons of architecture and great places for pictures and the Chapel they got married in was beautiful! And then…his reaction when she walked down the aisle?! Absolutely priceless.  So many sweet moments I went on edit overload with this wedding so I better get on with the pictures because there are a lot. :)

I’ve had to keep these gorgeous images under lock and key until Katy got married this past weekend and let me tell you, it was NOT easy.  I’ve decided that no matter what you do, as long as you’ve got a gorgeous bride, in a great dress, a sunset, and a horse the pictures are pretty much gonna come out amazing no matter what you do!

Again, our brides are SO awesome! And Katy was such a trooper with her wedding dress and being brave enough to get out in an open field with a horse! ;)  Thanks Katy!  And thanks to the sweet people at V8 Ranch for letting us shoot on their land and use “Caprock” their sweet horse!! Aric and I always find new places and we’re like “gosh, this would be a great place for a wedding!!” And we think it would be the cutest place for a little country/ranch wedding!

Anyway, on to the pictures!!  After Katy’s session I am a full believe in Cathedral length veils! It was just WAY too much fun, and way to pretty in all the pictures!!

Katy’s dad is a Lubbock Firefighter! So we started the session off at one of the firestations! It was pretty cool!
