Ya’ll…we have the greatest friends! Really and truly! I’ve made it a goal of mine for the year to take more personal photos. If you’re a photographer reading this, you know how hard it is to actually WANT to carry that big camera around with you when you do things. You don’t want to feel like you’re working, you don’t want to carry it, keep up with it, or have to worry about working on those “personal” photos later when you know you’ve got so many other photos to work on for paying clients!
But when I do that – I miss out on capturing the simple day to day moments that we have and enjoy! So Aric & I have been pushing each other to bring the camera along when we do things. We’ve left it several times, but like I said we’re trying to get better!
So here are a few snapshots of what’s been happening around here!
We LOVE game nights with friends around a dining room table with a glass of wine. Have you ever played “Nertz”? If not, you should try it! It’s lots of fun! Isn’t our friends’ baby girl ADORABLE? I’ve got pictures of her I still need to blog! (Yes, again, we are like the only one of our friends who isn’t having a baby right now! Crazy!!)
Now that we are all settled into the house, Aric is back at his projects! I love this for him! Because he so enjoys doing things like this…and he’s SO GOOD. Here he’s building a prototype farmhouse table for our patio, so that next he can build the “real” one for our kitchen with some old reclaimed lumber we got from an antique store near Fredericksburg. I’ll have to take a final picture of the patio table once we’ve got it stained! It looks SO GOOD! Can’t wait to have friends over and cookout!
I’ve been cooking! Haha! I don’t know what I would do without pinterest in my life! So many yummy recipes I’ve been trying! While Aric was working on the table one night, I made a homemade skillet lasagna that was delish! And so quick and easy!
And the rest of these are mostly from March and our trip to Vegas for WPPI. Here we are all ready to go to the Lasers and Blazers party!
Our sweet friends Caitlin & Ryan came to WPPI for their first time with us this year and we had such a great time! Love all the lights in Vegas…

And lastly, as promised! A little sneak peek at our engagement session from last Friday when we got back! And our last February wedding! I told you I was gonna blog better!
Kembra & Dustin are high school sweethearts and truly, it doesn’t get much cuter than them. They were so kind and sweet and adorably in love for their session! I’m so looking forward to their hometown wedding this summer! And so excited for them to be tying the knot!

And a quick teaser from Joanna & Jaymac’s wedding! I just love this couple! I need to blog Joanna’s bridals soon, because those eyes of hers?! Are absolutely incredible! It’s the best when you can tell a couple is REALLY in love, and these two are just that! I loved their ceremony, and my favorite part? When Joanna offered Jaymac a wispers toothbrush before the kiss (per her bridesmaids persuasion)! It was priceless!

Happy Valentine’s Day Everyone!!
Here’s just a few of our favorite hugs and kisses and cuddles from the past year!
Remember to kiss your sweetheart today!

I know I know – I’m gonna say it AGAIN – Joanna & Jaymac are another one of our precious 2013 couples! One of which I’m so excited about being a part of their big day!! Go ahead and tell them they’re crazy because they both told us they were not photogenic… Umm…obviously they were wrong!! We had a great time hanging out with them for their session! They made me want to go out and buy a bike so Aric and I could have another fun thing to do together! The couple that rides bikes together, stays together. That’s my new motto!
Enjoy a few favorites from their session!

We’ve still got some spots available for our mini sessions November 11th! Email us to book yours today!
Yet another adorable couple! I wish you guys could have see Collin & Amanda together… They are precious. And so so in love. Every little thing we asked them to do came so naturally because they are obviously in love. And seriously – how they met?! Is straight out of a romantic movie. Both at a coffee shop studying – and notice each other from across the room…and then, Collin stops by her table to introduce himself?! I mean when does that ever really happen in real life?! Props to Collin for being so brave to talk to the pretty girl he saw across the coffee shop! Now they are getting married and we are so excited to get to be a part of their big day!! Hope you guys enjoy some faves from their session!

Life is really good, ya’ll! We spent this last week with 3 of our couples for next year and let’s just say 2013 is going to be a good year! Engagements are almost always the first time that we meet our grooms. Sometimes we have met them in the initial consultation, but a lot of the time we meet with the bride and her mom or a bridesmaid, so we are usually going in blind to the engagement session. It’s kind of fun that way. The engagement session is the first time that we see our couples REALLY interact. You can tell right off the bat how comfortable they are with one another and let’s just say this past week- ALL of our couples were so absolutely head over heels, cute and cuddly and sweet that it was kind of like the best week ever!
Chelsey and Cody were so adorable! And such good sports! Chelsey had mentioned she wanted some pictures taken in a cotton field so I drove around all day beforehand and found the best cotton I could find! There is just something so magical about being in a field of cotton. It’s quiet. It’s Beautiful…and then when you put these two in there being extra cute- I didn’t ever want to leave!
Anyway, I’m excited, and I feel like I’m rambling, so without further ado- here’s a few lot of favorites from their session! Enjoy!
And have a great weekend!

I loved incorporating all of Ryan & Ashley’s fun ideas and how the infused their personalities into their engagement session. I remember them telling us how they were big rangers fans- so we were excited to shoot at the baseball field. The summer is always so full of weddings and other portrait sessions that we don’t get to shoot as many engagement sessions so it’s always fun to dive back in to engagements and start getting to know our 2013 couples. I can hardly believe that as I write it! 2013 is just around the corner! Crazy business. Well we are super excited to get to be a part of the journey with Ashley & Ryan! They were so great, and I’m already looking forward to their wedding day! Hope you guys enjoy a few favorites!

I’ve got a full lineup of blog posts for this week, but I couldn’t help but share a sneak peek first!! Do we have some gorgeous clients or what?!?!
xoxo, Happy Monday!!
