One of the most amazing things about being a full time photographer for the past couple years has been getting to know other photographers. I have to admit-the photography industry is full of some of the most genuine, caring, creative, giving people in the whole world. Everyone is so selfless, so willing to share, to teach, to help, to give of themselves and their art to help others. Whether it be their clients, fellow photographers, or people in need.
This year will mark the 3rd year since well known celebrity photographer, Jeremy Cowart founded the epitome of what most of the people in the photography industry are all about, it’s called Help Portrait. <<<<< Click the link and go read more about it! And this Saturday, December 10th will be the first time Help Portrait has been done in Lubbock. (Thanks to the hard work of some wonderful Lubbock photographers- Katrina Ballentine, Betsy Lacky, Brittany Strebeck, Linda Schilberg, Stuart Blalock, Bruce Smith, Alisa Joy and that’s just naming a few! Sorry I can’t remember everyone! I think there are a total of 24 Lubbock photographers helping out this weekend)
Help Portrait will be this Saturday, December 10th at Firehouse on 1719 Buddy Holly Ave from 11:00am to 1:00pm. If you know anyone who NEEDS this service please pass this information along on your facebook page! Snacks and Drinks will be provided along with some crafts for the kids!
I am so excited and truly thankful for the opportunity to be a part of Help Portrait this year. The end of the year is always so busy and stressful and I’m excited to spend a few hours NOT focusing on myself.
I tried to embed the video-but if it doesn’t load just click on the words help portrait below!
