Very rarely do we ever show up to a wedding without having met both the bride and groom.  Most of the time we have spent some time together either in the first meeting, or during their engagement session… But for Karen & Jeff’s wedding we had only met briefly with Karen and her mom and sister a few months before the wedding.  So we were a bit apprehensive as we prepared for their wedding…  What did the groom even look like?! Would they be comfortable with us since we didn’t do an engagement session? How would we connect? and so on and so forth…

Fortunately for us, Karen and Jeff are basically awesome.  Karen is the sweetest person you will ever meet and Aric & Jeff became instant friends so the day flowed perfectly. It was as if we had known them for years…

As Karen and her bridesmaids did hair and make-up to prep for the big day, Jeff and his brothers lounged in bed and watched a little college football.  Jill came to Karen’s room with a message from her “husband to be” he said, “Tell Karen I can’t wait to marry her today…” and I’m not gonna lie, I got a little choked up.  I hadn’t even met this guy yet, but already I liked him. :)

Their day was perfect. No, really- it was.  I always say that and it’s mostly because it’s true. What day could be more perfect than your wedding day?!… ;)

The perfect day was also made possible by Karen’s wedding planner (our favorite!!) Jill Leven of Eat Drink and Be Marry.  I’m serious girls.  The difference in organization and how smoothly wedding days run with Jill there and without her are like night and day. If you are looking for a planner look no further! Jill is your girl!

I literally squealed with delight when I saw these images in the back of my camera after I took them.  Karen’s Anjolique dress was a dream and it fit her perfectly!

I also squealed a little…when Karen pulled out these stunning Kate Spade shoes!!

I mean really… SO FUN!!!!

Love these shots of Karen right before we took her to see Jeff for the first time.  They seem timeless…and Karen you are beautiful!

LOVE FIRST LOOKS!!! They are such sweet moments and literally the only time that you will be alone on your wedding day.  When Karen opted to do the first look I was thrilled!! That gave us so much more time for their bride and groom portraits as well as bridal party and family.  Less stress.  You just can’t go wrong with the first look…

LOVED Karen’s bouquet done so perfectly by one of Lubbock’s best florists, College Flowers.

Some lovely portraits of the precious couple!

They had an awesome bridal party!

Um. Love this. :)

There’s the handsome groom… And I loved the simplicity and uniqueness of his boutonniere!

The awesome shoes and flowers once again.

Karen & Jeff’s reception was held at The Overton Hotel in downtown Lubbock.  And they did such a wonderful job!

The Kliffnotes band provided some great entertainment for the evening…

Yep, my husband is a genius. I mean really. So cool. Who thinks of this kind of stuff?! (He’s so hott! :) )

Congratulations Karen and Jeff!!! Thank you guys so much for letting us be a part of your special day!! It really was perfect and we had a blast!!
