First things first. My guess is this is the first wedding you’ve ever planned. You may be one of those girls who has been planning all her life, or maybe you’ve helped your friend plan her wedding, but realistically this is likely the first full (real) wedding you have planned and planning a wedding is no walk in the park. We definitely recommend that you consider hiring a wedding planner to help you with all the details of your wedding. In our experience, brides who have a planner seem much more relaxed and able to enjoy the planning process and especially their wedding day. Many wedding planners also often have special relationships with all the other wedding vendors you will need to hire and can basically “pay for themselves” by getting discounts with certain preferred vendors! So it’s a win/win!
That being said we know that a dedicated wedding planner is not in everyone’s budget so we love to help as much as we can along the way! One other tip we have is try to avoid “all-inclusive” venue & vendor packages. Venues that offer to include all wedding vendors with their booking package are typically focused on making more money, often at the major sacrifice of quality in other vendor areas. When the focus is on commoditizing wedding vendors, the quality of service and unique details of your day often suffer.
